The consequence we treat is weight gain, and the joint and mobility problems that follow it several years earlier than they should.
The rental turnover here creates a second pattern: pets arriving with no history. If you have taken on a dog or cat and have no paperwork, assume nothing and start again. It costs a vaccination course and removes a genuine risk.
The Kirichwa watercourse and the old drainage lines are worth knowing about. They hold water, they hold ticks, and dogs drink from them. In an area that otherwise looks entirely built up, they are the reason we still see tick-borne disease in Kilimani dogs.

Bring it in. We will estimate age, check for the obvious problems, and start a vaccination course from scratch, which is the safe assumption when the history is unknown. Deworming and a weight check happen at the same visit.
Is a big dog unfair in a Kilimani flat?
